Published: 27-Feb-2013

The construction work is underway for a new hospital in Hofheim, Germany, which is a public-private partnership between Alpine Bau Deutschland AG, a Germany-based construction services provider and the hospital service VAMED along with the clinics of the Main-Taunus district.

To be developed in two phases, the new 21,500 square meters hospital will consist of four pavilion-like three storied buildings and a semi-basement, which are all connected by a four storied building. Upon completion the hospital will have 173 beds for inpatients and 12 day clinic places.

In the new building, 83 beds will be used in the field of internal medicine and stroke unit, 56 inpatient beds will be used for the psychiatry, 12 places in the day clinic and 40 beds for geriatric patients.

The works on the facade of the new hospital building of the first construction phase have already begun. By the end of October 2013, all the interior work will be completed. The relocation of the medical departments into the new building is planned for February 2014.

The fourth pavilion will be built on its current location. The project is scheduled to be completed by the first part of 2016 and the psychiatry and sleep laboratory will be moved into the forth building after the completion of the construction in 2016.
