ASID honours Wegman Design for NCH Birth Place remodelling project

Florida-based Wegman Design Group has scooped a Design Excellence Award from the American Society of Interior Design’s (ASID) South Florida Chapter for the remodelling of The Birth Place at NCH North Naples Hospital in Naples, Florida.

Wegman Design Group has been recognized with the award in the Healthcare Design of the Year category. The firm has redesigned the patient and family areas at NCH North Naples Hospital in such a way as to better accommodate the advanced healthcare services and the needs of staff, patients, and guests.
The design team has incorporated a garden botanical motif in the redesign of the information and visitor check-in areas and family and children’s waiting areas. Design features improving medical functionality and the patient and family experience are incorporated in the remodelling of the labour and delivery rooms, patient rooms, and nurses station.
Wegman Design Group was also recognized with a Design Excellence Award in 2008 for healthcare design for its ‘SeaCAREium,’ a complete remodel of the NCH Healthcare System paediatric acute care unit.
